Should I Become a Muslim?

In The Name of God, The Most Merciful, The Ever-Merciful to His believing servants.

All praise belongs to God, may He extol His Messenger in the highest company of the Angels and bestow peace upon him, his family, his companions and those who follow guidance until the Day of Judgement.

To proceed,

God has said,

Were you created by nothing, or did you create yourself?

Obviously neither of these is correct – as before you existed you were nothing, and nothing doesn’t have the ability to create anything.

Nor does any of the creation have the attributes needed to create a human being.

– from a drop of sperm to a grown man or woman with strength and intelligence!

So who does?

The Creator, Sustainer and Owner of Everything.

He is Perfect, Free of all needs.

He created you, and He did not need to do that.

He has given you everything you have and as long as you are in the world He will continue to provide for you from all the other things He has created.

So how can we not be grateful to Him?

What is Islam?

Islam is to submit to God alone upon monotheism, yielding to Him in obedience, turning away from polytheism and its people.

God, The One Disposing of the affairs, has not left us without guidance.

He has been continually sending Prophets and Messengers to teach us about Him and how we should show gratitude to Him.

The most important affair, the foundation of the call of all the Prophets and Messengers is that you make your worship sincerely for God alone.

Just as there is no Creator and no Provider besides Him, and everything is Created, Owned and Controlled by Him – then He alone is deserving of worship.

Who Are The Muslims?

A muslim is one who has submitted to God alone upon monotheism (worshipping Him alone).

How can we not submit to God, when we have no food, except what He gives us?

And recite to them the news of Abraham,

When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”

They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.”

He said: “Do they hear you, when you call (on them)?

“Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?”

They said: “Nay, but we found our fathers doing so.”

He said, “Then do you see what you have been worshipping,

“You and your ancient forefathers?

“Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the Worlds;

“Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me;

“And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink.

“And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me.

“And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life;

“And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense,”

The Noble Qur’an 26:69-82

Is there anyone worth submitting to after Him?

If God took away your food and drink, who besides Him could give you provision that you might sustain yourself?

If He took away your sight and hearing, who after him could make you see again?

See, you are submitted to God’s Will already.

God, The Most High, has given you a choice, between being grateful or being ungrateful.

He has created a group for Paradise and a group for the fire.

He Knows what you will choose and He has given you your will as a test.

You can’t escape Him in the heavens and the earth.

Our lives are short and what comes after is forever.

If God wills for you to die tomorrow, could you stop Him?

Do you know that when you go to sleep at night, if you will wake up again?

How Can I Go To Paradise?

Paradise belongs to God.

He has prepared it for the monotheists and sent to us callers to it, teaching mankind how to submit to Him and how they might please Him that He will enter them into His Paradise.

Everyone who submits to God upon monotheism, shunning every other object of worship, will enter Paradise.

God has informed us of this through His Messengers and in His Books.

From them in the past were The Torah and The Gospel – however, they do not remain in their world in their original form, people have taken bits out and added others in.

The Qur’an is the last of God’s Books and He has preserved it to this time of ours.

Not a single part of it has changed and the Arabic language remains a living language that is spoken by millions of people to this very day.

Who Was Muhammad?

Muhammad, may God extol him in the highest company of the Angels and grant him peace, was the last messenger whom God sent to all mankind.

He lived in the city of Mecca in Arabia – where his ancestors Abraham and Ishmael (Abraham’s son) had built the Kaabah.

His religion and call was the same as all the messengers before him, such as his forefathers Abraham and Noah, and Moses and Jesus.

He called the people to worship God alone and shun the false objects of worship.

Whereas the previous messengers were sent to their own particular peoples, the Prophet Muhammad was sent to all mankind.

He was rejected by most of his people at first who even tried to kill him and did kill some of his followers!

God commanded him and his followers to migrate to the city of Medinah where God continued to reveal His Speech (The Qur’an) and teach those who had submitted to Him the rest of what was beneficial to them and harmful to them.

Remember, that God is Perfect and Free of all needs, we cannot benefit Him and we cannot harm Him.

If we show gratitude – it is for our own self, and if someone were to turn away, it is only to their own harm.

God teaches us the beneficial and harmful things for our benefit.

Who Will God Forgive?

God forgives the sins of anyone who repents and leaves them – so long as they have submitted to Him alone in monotheism.

There doesn’t need be anyone involved except Him.

He is the All-Hearer and The All-Knower, how could we call on other than Him?

How Does Someone Become a Muslim?

To submit to God, say, sincerely for God alone:

“I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah (God) alone and Muhammad is His slave and messenger.”

Whoever does so is a Muslim – and if they finish their life upon it, without having done anything to leave Islam, they will enter Paradise.

I hope you will choose Paradise, though you are responsible for your own self.

I ask God, The Perfect and Most High, to guide you to that which pleases Him, which is what is best for you.

May God extol His Messenger in the highest company of the Angels and grant him peace, his family and companions altogether.

From another slave whom God guided to Islam.
